Elven genealogy poses a remarkable problem:  with an elf's lengthy lifespan, several generations can be alive at once (and thus, Recognizing across generational lines).  And where human fertility is generally limited to a twenty or thirty year span, a female elf can be fertile for centuries.

For our purposes, the River Twine Holt recognizes "generation" as based on the mother's birth.  For example, all children born of second generation mothers are considered third generation children, even if the fathers of those children are themselves of the first, second, or third generation.

P-bowflight.jpg Bowflight - (1512-1989) M, H=blond, E=green. Son of Kestrel and Boar. Recognized of Finch, father of Willow and Pathmark. Killed in a mudslide/rockslide. (art by Joan M.)
P-finch.jpg Finch – (1596-1868) F, H=light blond-brown, E=amber. Daughter of Sunlight & Raven, sister of Windsong. Recognized of Bowflight, mother of Willow and Pathmark. Finch was a calm, cautious woman who nonetheless was an avid hunter who skillfully wielded a large axe. Admired for her wonderful singing voice and flute-playing (hence the name). Killed by a mountain-cat. (art by Holly H.)
P-flash.jpg Flash - (1618-1832) F, H=red, E=blue-green. Daughter of Tallow & One-Leg. A temperamental huntress who enjoyed getting into – and out of – dangerous scrapes. In a threeway lovemating with Whitestag & Fletcher. Died without Recognizing or reproducing. (art by Trena D.)
