2012 TREASURE HUNT CLUE #2: We are two fathers, whose dying thoughts are requests for forgiveness. Who are we? (Answer: Poem “Dying Thoughts” by Adrienne) The young cub sobs to herself in the corner, rocking back and forth with her face pressed into her curled-in knees. Her mind clouded with grief, unable to focus on anything but the racking tears shuddering through her young body. The elder elf kneels close, a hand resting consolingly on her shoulder. His feelings mirror hers, for he had lost the elf he had thought of as his father as well. He knows it will take time to process and grieve, but for her he refuses to allow them to show. They only shared a mother, but the same blood runs through both their veins, and now they find themselves joined together by something else. By the bond of loss. |
